For specific application scenarios, such as a KUKA KR10 robot working in a painting booth, we provide specially designed protection solutions. Inside the painting booth, the robot needs to pick up workpieces and move them under a spray nozzle to evenly apply a layer of paint. The robot then places the painted object inside a UV curing chamber where the coating is cured and hardened. Due to the presence of solvent vapors, this area poses an explosion risk. Therefore, before entering an ATEX zone, explosion risk analysis and assessment must be conducted. This means every element of the workstation should be suitable for such working conditions.


Our protective cover solution provides additional protection for robots working in these harsh conditions. The protective cover shields the robot's robotic arm and gears, preventing paint accumulation. This not only reduces the likelihood of malfunctions but also decreases the need for cleaning and repairs, thereby avoiding additional costs. Additionally, the protective cover has antistatic properties, preventing the accumulation of static charge, which minimizes the risk of discharge and ignition of flammable vapors.
